Bath & Body Works | Morocco Orchid & Amber | Fragrance Review | #BBWinsiders

March 31, 2014

Usually when I do a #BBWinsiders review, it is of a product that was sent to me from Bath and Body Works free of charge for my thoughts on it to share with my readers and friends.

With this scent however,
Morocco Orchid and Pink Amber,
I had a feeling a new insider item was coming that day, but I was having a hard morning and just missed getting one....and the free garden party candle scent as well. You need to be fast as quantities are limited.

While I won't be able to review that candle yet, I went and bought this new World Garden fragrance scent preview so I can give an opinion on it.

In seeing the packaging on all of the new upcoming World Gardens I must say I am loving the noticeable thought and design work that is put into making these bottles pretty enough to be displayed.  While all of he bottles are beautiful, there is a change in the packaging marketing to all of us and I am loving it.

Even this tiny Eau de parfum preview has the clover like shield pattern on the sticker. Add in the shiny gold lid completes the look that something exotic is coming.

Now for the scent...I say time and again, scent is a personal thing and our bodies chemistries are all different....so with all fragrances I review my first thought is to say....go to the store and TRY any and all on yourself.  They are free to try in store and relatively cheap to get a sample of something home to take for a spin.

A few days ago I was sprayed with the larger bottle of this in a store and my first thought was ....not for me. I am not sure if it mixed with some lotion or fragrance I had on me already, but it didn't smell like my typical scents I would go for.

Tonight, I am clean from a shower with no scent on my skin and I sprayed a good amount to see what this is going to do.

It is very similar to something we have already....dried down. Like a hair close to Forever Midnight... on me...

And if you would see me...you would laugh...  as I am trying a bunch of scents, one after another,  on my other arm to compare it with this new one.  I'm thinking its the Amber warm note that is perplexing me now.  Strong out of the bottle and subtly different after a few moments.

This reminds me of a fragrance you will wear day into evening. It's not a heavy fragrance that will overpower you in a hot summer day, and its not a lightweight scent that won't hold up.

I will be picking up one more preview the next time I visit the store.

Bath & Body Works | Provence | New Purchases

March 30, 2014

After two strike outs this weekend at getting the last few things of the Provence line that I hadn't ordered online I tried one last store.

Last week, this store had out all of the new luminaries and a few other odds and ends for the Provence line. Of course...they are sold out already.  Problematic I suppose when the floor set is tonight and you don't have merchandise ... but wonderful because who wants to be stuck with something when the floorset is completed and a new one is beginning.  The sweet shop cookie jar is still sitting at the counter there (full price).

I wandered over to the pocketbac display and saw all but two of the holders I wanted and there were a few of the new refills in the boxes.

As I looked for the others I wanted a familiar face came out of the back room and asked me was there anything particular I needed.  :)

She went into the back a few times for me grabbing all on my list...except for the candles and the hand soaps.  Because the candles will be $10.00 tomorrow (French lavender), I am fine with waiting on those and the hand soaps are going 7/$24 and they can wait too.

Yesterday I stocked up in the new French Lavender and Honey Travel Sized products so that gave me a nice start for gifting as well as my personal use.  I have a few of the preview parfums so I will hold off on getting the new full sized parfum bottle until there is a great sale price. It's so pretty I think it will look lovely out on a mirrored tray with the others.

I did get a new TMC in the French Lavender and Honey and  three out of the four new soufflé and honey scrubs to give them a try too. These were the scents she brought out so they were fine as a start.  I really love the attention to detail that was made for the bottles and lids.  Utilitarian beauty products are fine for under the cabinets but these are perfect to display.

I grabbed thirty of the pocketbacs....that little duck is cute and perfect for Easter Baskets...and of course used a survey and got them for $20.00.

Speaking of surveys, I was told there is a new policy they are going to be enforcing more now regarding the survey coupon being attached to the receipt.  Because some choose to make money off of selling them on Ebay, they now want to see the entire receipt.  That's going to be difficult for the first...200+ I have since I snipped them off not to have such a big mess in my purse and on my desk...(then I filed the slips).  And, yes I know I don't need to carry hundreds....but I try to carry a lot since I buy a lot.  So starting now, I will be more diligent in leaving the slip attached.....I only removed them because previously the SA's were tossing my slips out after redeeming and saying they couldn't get them from the trash.

I also grabbed the new flower holders....and the purple provence...(one for antibac one for hand lotion) and the bee.  I am going to add white sparkly paint to the wings....I think they missed the mark on that one....and yes I know to add more color means to add more price....But that being said look at all of the colors on the hula girl dancer pocketbac.... :)

So that was today.  She also told me what I have heard from the two other stores...the Provence line will not be a table out in the front of the store as the Hawaiian line will remain there for now...but the displays will still be lovely.  I was sad to hear that....as it was the same thing that happened with the Mad About You line....it stayed in the front and the Sweet Shop line was pushed further in.  I understand it is probably to push a slower moving Hawaii line.

I have kept the blog for the Provence line updated with the new products as they have come out and tonight I only need to add a few more.  And remember my Facebook Page always has up to date photo albums as well.

Now that Provence is here...I cannot wait to start sharing what I know about the World Gardens line coming April 28th, 2014.

Department: Beauty | L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privee | Lipsticks |

March 30, 2014

While out shopping this afternoon, I stopped in a CVS drugstore looking for anything new lipstick wise and came across a brand new display for L'Oreal called the Collection Privee.

Had I not been overloaded with two big shopping bags full of heavy items I would have snapped a picture of this beautiful little display (next time I will) but on it were nail polish, lipstick, eye shadows and blush and at first glance each had the names of famous people on them.

This display was smaller in size and a few of the lipsticks were already gone as there was one for each shade.  I was curious about the matching polishes too but when the store became crowded at the registers where these were placed, I took one lipstick to the price checker to find out they were priced $10.50 each.

I came back and checked out the few that remained for color appeal, chose two and hit the register.

I had a CVS coupon that let me get $3.00 off any $15.00 purchase which helped, and then because I purchased two L'Oreal products I received a $4.00 bonus bucks certificate to use on another purchase.

I grabbed the JLo #370 Nude color choice and the Frieda #350 Nude color choice.

Upon researching these when I got home I found that L'Oreal did a line for their Color Riche Collection Privee using famous spokewomen and the premise was they wanted a nude line of products for different ethnicities using women of various skin tones that are not the nudes of yesterday. It was released last year for the Toronto Film Festival in Canada but I can't recall ever seeing these in my area.

What I may think is nude that works on my skin may not work well on someone else. So this is a great concept. And with new shades out for 2014 I am ready to go Nude ;)

Behind the Commerical

After watching the commercial for the lipstick and polish and the behind the commercial, I hope to find a few of the other limited edition lipsticks and polishes to add to my collection.

Privee Nail Polish

Kringle Candle Company | Summer Scents 2014 | Review

March 28, 2014

I purchased these six melts two days ago. They were delivered today and tonight I scraped a small amount of each, one scent at a time, into my wax melt warmer (from Kringle Candle Co.) to review. Even that little scraping had so much throw it filled the upstairs. I look forward to using a full melt piece. Below are my impressions of these scents.

  1. Wild Poppies
  2. Pink Grapefruit
  3. Set Sail
  4. Coconut Wood
  5. Sparkling
  6. Black Sands

Wild Poppies  *poppies bloom gloriously to welcome the arrival of warm weather each year. Kringle candle distilled their delicate fragrance into a one of a kind floral that sweetly sings summer.

I can honestly say I can't remember if my poppies that I grow smell because there are so many other flowers around them... But in smelling this floral for sure melt, my first impression was that of lilacs.  Again not an overwhelming in your face floral...this reminded me of the scent of my neighbors lilacs on a warm spring day as they come in through the open window.  Another great throw for a small bit of melt and a re-buy.

Pink Grapefruit  *that classic tang and sweet sass of ripe, pungent grapefruit are absolutely fragrance forward in this lusciously realistic creation.

If I smelled this with my eyes closed and no label I could say this is Pink Grapefruit without a doubt.  What I loved about the cold sniff is it smells realistic.  Melting it, you can smell the sharpness of the fruit and it is a pungent scent as the fruit is....but not repugnant. My husband walked by the room and asked was I eating fruit.  A great summertime scent. I would buy this again, the throw on a tiny bit of melt is awesome...I can only imagine a candle jar.

Set Sail  *chart a course for nautical mystique with this bracing blend featuring sparkling top notes, marine vegetals and an earthy base of musk and moss.

This is a masculine scent as it reminds me of a fragrance my husband wears from B&BW (I think its oak or the dark amber).  On cold sniff and on warm throw and wow does this throw....I cant help but think about those clothes stores in the mall whose fragrance wafts out into the rest of the mall. This is clean and earthy and I can't help but keep putting the melt up to my nose and smelling it. It draws you in.  Very sensual.  Re-buy for sure.

Coconut Wood  *the rich goodness of fresh coconut blended with the trio of earthy tropical wood notes and just a hint of orchid flower.

This is my most favorite out of all of the scents and I will be going back to get more. I think this scent should be in a room spray and something for my lingerie drawer. The throw on this is strong as were all of the melts....yet it is not a heavily perfumed scent that a man couldn't enjoy it...but this warm creamy note of coconut with a sweet floral at the end. Love this!

Sparkling   *the bright zesty appeal of brisk, cold mineral water abound refreshingly in happy union with citrus and fruit notes.

Grab some margarita glasses and salt the rims...this is a perfect citrusy drink scent on cold sniff.  The more I smell this one the more I like it.  Warming it has a great throw yet isn't so overwhelming that you can't stand to be around it.  These notes are toned down enough to let you know it has that sparkling drink appeal with a realistic summer feel.  Re-buy.

Black Sands   *with its mysterious swirl of sweet coconut, oriental spices and warming amber accords, black sands offers a satisfyingly tropical magic.

When I took this out to smell it cold my first thought was it smelled like a bar of soap.  I know, that sounds odd but when you smell it yourself...you may think that too. When I warmed it up you can really smell the spices and it reminded me of a more subtle king of kings.  This for me is a definite re-buy in a larger size.

Kringle Candle Comapny | Summertime 2014 | Wax Melts Photos

March 28, 2014

My candle melts arrived today, two days after ordering them and I am excited to get them tested out.  On cold sniff each one smells incredible.  I look forward to getting them melted and reviewed shortly.  I have a migraine now so I need to get rid of that first...but here is a picture of these scents....and I am loving the new lid designs.  Bright and colorful!

Coming for summer 2014, Kringle Candle Company has announced the launch of six new candle scents along with a few new sizes for our candle loving enjoyment.

Bath & Body Works | Online ❥ Provence Purchases

March 27, 2014

My online order placed two days ago just arrived and everything looks great.

The French Lavender Room perfume really smells perfectly like Lavender. I am glad there is not Vanilla.  As do the Wallflower bulbs, on cold sniff.

I have to try the Sundrenched Vineyards Home Fragrance Oil warmed.  The candle with the same name does smell like a Cranberry Woods re-do to me...but the oil had a bit of a different note to it cold.  The bottle of hand soap was free along with the shipping with code ALLNEW.  And I will be getting the rest of the things I want from the Provence line in store this weekend.

Bath & Body Works | Test Candle Thoughts and ideas

March 27, 2014

I am still trying to finish up with my taxes but I am so distracted that may not be happening again today.

At Christmas time, a season I love,  I get visions of sugarplums dancing around my head as all focus goes to getting everything decked out for the holiday.... and as soon as I hear the words...Test Candles....ocd steps in.

And we have had big groupings of our beloved test candles come through already for the new year...Fresh Picked,  Sweet Shop, Garden Party, Coastal Cool, Destinations, Provence....that you would sort of think we are done for a time.... only to hear that there is another  line waiting in the wings.

While that is exciting, I really prefer and LOVE my Fall and Holiday Test Candles.

Usually starting in July, after the rush of Semi Annual Sale is over we can look forward to seeing some re-dos under different names and a few new, new.

The hardest part then is....trying to afford them all at once.  I mean really, 30 candles launching at once is pretty cost prohibitive...sale or no sale.  I did cut back on my purchases of them last season, I had to.

What I would love to see is testing Fall scents and Holiday scents .... now.  Not all at once.  Start early and launch maybe 6 or 8.  Every month from now until when the Fall candle line would drop for a floorset....test out your candle choices and see what customers are thinking.

Plus, B&BW, you have an arsenal of BBWinsiders who would love to try them out.... Um, show of hands who would like to test new candles scents???

Use the minis... or masons...or 4oz. sizes. Any sizes.

Don't label them if you want your line to remain un-copied.  White label...plain.... no pictures....let us tell you what we think of it.

Can you tell I love my wax?

Okay...that is enough candle talk for now.  I must get my taxes finished.....

I have Provence Candles to buy!

Bath & Body Works | Test Candle | Summer Sips

March 27, 2014

I have a girlfriend who is as crazy about Bath and Body Works as I am and when she loves something she is sure to tell me.  At times her store gets to test different things and while mine tests Pocketbacs...{don't get me wrong...I love my pocketbacs and because my store tested them in July last year I was able to name the holiday tradition signatures before anyone realized what they were}   her store tests candles which a lot more fun.  And here we are in March ..we sort of thought we were done with test candles for a time, I am pleased to say...we are not.

I did hear about it and blogged it for registered users because I wanted to be sure it was a real thing coming.  And I got a call back today that it is on the list as new. Which makes me excited for another reason...I was told it's one of the new candle line names on the list as new and coming.  Meaning...??? Are there others too?  Yay.

Now I am not getting all over excited and racing to a store to get these yet.  While the names sound great and the pictures are cute....I would bet these are a lot of re-dos.  So I will be patient.  And as far as the pictures go, so far after checking everywhere, the only pictures I see are currently  are on Ebay and they are not mine to post so I would suggest you go there to check them out. And no, I am not that seller, selling these.

The lids are done up with brightly colored stickers of the fruits they represent, and the candle label is of the drink holder the name implies. Cute...definitely.

So coming to a test store soon as it is on the list, Here are the :

Summer Sips

❥Pomegranate Spritzer-  A fun and fizzy blend of lush pomegranate and juicy guava

❥Nectarine Green Tea- Take a break with this soothing blend of Japanese green tea and ripe juicy nectarines.

❥Mango Coconut Cooler-  Mix this special blend of creamy coconut, luscious mango and a hint of island spice into the perfect summer morning.

❥Sparkling Berry Fizz- Add some sparkle to a summer afternoon with this blend of swee elderberry, tart black currants and bubbly spring water

❥Clementine Crush -A citrus blend of juicy clementine, golden grapefruit, and a hint of orange leaf.

❥Peach Cilantro Twist- Capture all of the fun of a backyard bash with this fresh and fruity blend of early summer peaches, fresh garden cilantro and a hint of juicy mango.
