Life Writings | If You Don't Know It's Broke...
The thing about hearing all that is said about you, other than the fact so many who read you, hate you, is that you learn a few things you may have not known.
When I started writing here on Blogger, it was coming off of a Yahoo 360 sharing site (yes, I am that old) and then Multiply.com (that sold out to be a domain that sold things, then dissolved). The appeal was it offered a free space to write what I wanted, but it also offered a few limitations on the design factor. I have had my own .com, but I found this place to be easier to jot down a few things and go.
My writings...are designed for me....and what I wanted to save, to look back on or not. The blog written to release the pain of Angeline was shared at the time for the small group of "friends" who listened to the pain of it all through my words on the page. They helped guide me daily as I expressed the darkest of things I went through.
When that time passed and I was opening up that little area I kept for myself of all of the things that made me happy in a time of pain, I saw that there were others like myself who had a love of the B brand. Way back when, there was a place, a forum, that the B had where you could interact with others...on varying subjects of their products. It wasn't long after following it, I noticed the arguing there...and that should have been my cue...don't get involved.
But I did.
The uploading of all of the things I saved to show here was difficult because it lost many of the references of where the photos were held in those earlier years. That is why some of the early posts, way back, need the photos replaced. (That tends to happen here too when I try to upload to my .com site). I tried many different layouts and themes offered here over the years and settled on the one that was showing recently, with a few adjustments over time.
I never knew there was any difficulty in navigating the site. Everything I knew, was shared there with links to find the answers. The front page held all of the recent information, and I know that was found because I see it all over social. At the bottom of the list of 5 recent blogs was a previous page link that did the same thing...took you through all of that new...and so on.
Years of Archived materials are linked and there were three SEARCH bars to find what ever was needed at any point of reading.
I thought I provided everything anyone who was looking for something B related could need, along with sharing some things I want to save too. My Life.
While in the process of changing things up a bit to give it a cleaner look, I am met with some comments that were shared on R:
"she punishes us with removing important information only to put it back later", or the sales information is gone again." Or she's done." --if I un-publish the page to move anything, or change colors without interrupting someones viewing.
I've tried to do it while it's live and hear the same complaints.
No one ever said a word about having troubles. And it is NOT that they didn't want to confront me, or tell me. I was told daily from random people here and in other countries how great it was that they could find some information they were looking for.
If I don't know...how can I fix what's wrong?
While R was hosting the LITP Victims commentary, before I knew what was being said, I was moving things from the top PAGES bar (sales posts) to the bottom area to combine the links. Someone messaged me they couldn't find it, and I told them where it was.
I went through a few templates to find one that gave a cleaner look to the page....while being more responsive for cell viewing. The blog size is too huge now to move. The template chosen offers eight different views --- so I chose Magazine.... Because it seems no one is interested in clicking that previous page link when they are done viewing the first five posts of new. Like IG, everyone wants that quick photo with maybe a bit of info...then to move on.
So that is what will show. Along with my life....and anything else I chose to share. I will put my Life Writings in a link (LW) in the top task bar, as to not break your flow of soaps, and candles, and fragrance.
I am not an influencer who is guided by a company to promote anything...I never said I was and some were quite clear on their response to that comment being made on R. I get nothing for free from that brand, and that's okay. I have never purchased a coupon. I do get my mailers most times so I don't have a need to spend more! Ha ha.
I am someone who has created an Archive for herself, who loves...and maybe sometimes, doesn't love so many of the things a brand offers, and I share my thoughts of an item ---if it is going to sell out - I say must buy (because of years of seeing what does and doesn't).
And with this new, refreshed look, let me finish up by mentioning a few other things.
Why comments are closed you may wonder? As clearly shown throughout the many years, and in the R post this week, people cannot simply comment to comment. And I am not interested in cleaning up hate, porn links, and fighting with other commenters. I spent years commenting, interacting, and leaving comments open only to have to clean things up in the morning. No thanks.
Blocking on social? You bet. You may think you should have access to attack me, or do whatever you want. I am not on that many social sites (thanks to some) so you are already limited -- so blocking for me is like walking away.
My archive is open to the public, always has been...If you have a question, please ask. If you disrespect me, expect the same back.
