I was on the Bath and Body Works site well before 10PM when it changed over to the Candle Day queue line and after the little questionnaire and email requirements were answered I noticed there wasn't free shipping for the online purchase...
...which was expected, and the area for any coupon savings was also eliminated, also expected. I looked at my choices, searched for other things I need, and in the end, left the site. I always prefer to shop my store...and with an 8 AM opening scheduled for today (with temps at 2 degrees) I slept in a bit and got there after 10 AM.
The store had plenty of customers wandering around with red bags, lifting lids and smelling everything, but nothing like years prior. Years ago, the lines were long waiting to get in, the tables were being emptied quickly and everyone's husband sat on the benches outside of the store laughing at the chaos.
I didn't smell anything today; I grabbed what I thought I may like, grabbed some I was unsure of, and went on with my day. My husband was cracking me up watching me, saying, "Do you need a bag?"
Turns out, I did.
My store did not get allocated the Candle Day 2025 candle and one other Vanilla one. Which stinks. The two hours I didn't get there to shop was long enough for a few candles I wanted to sell out -- namely the Hot Fudge Drizzle and the Glazed Cherries Candles.
The Perfect Pairings Popcorn and Slushy was sold out, and I passed on grabbing the others after reading some of the thoughts others had about them.
Why we had these scents and not something like, say THE ORIGINAL candle brought back...as well as many other, requested scents...I have no idea.
If I get a chance to get to the mall again before the sale ends, I will check out all that I didn't take the time to smell.
