We all know of body care "test" stores that showcase two forms of New body care fragrances soon to come out.
We also know about TEST CANDLES that appear in select stores seasonally that make people go crazy for so much so that they will travel to get their hands on them.
On both of these kinds of tests, sometimes a few of the items may be considered a "fail" and they won't circulate wide when they do a release. Or they may become online-only exclusives.
Recently a holiday fragrance called Shimmering Stars tested out prior to the holiday as part of the All That Glitters Body Care Collection, but it was considered a failure, never released nationwide, and the leftover products found their way to red Semi-Annual Sale bins. That is where I grabbed my Shimmering Stars lotion.
One other way Bath and Body Works get feedback for new things to come is by doing random product surveys in select stores months before we may see the new item appear in stores. I say may because sometimes the item does not come out immediately.
Such was the case when the Hot Cocoa and Cream body care scent was surveyed in a Florida store and it did not come out for that holiday season but it did the following year. And if you remember when I shared that they did survey the Land Of Sweets / Baking Spirits Bright candles early 2019, it let me know this past holiday theme name and how awesome it was going to be.
The survey usually shows photos of the item on foam boards with a description of the feel it is meant to convey and the customer taking the survey answers questions regarding the packaging as well as the fragrance itself.
It can be body care fragrances, wallflowers, scent portable designs, and candles. Those are the things I have seen photos of...but I am sure there could be more I have not seen that they survey.
I have been told after taking the survey, the customer may be rewarded with a gift card for their time, and reminded that they are not to take photos during the process as well as share the info.
And we all know that old saying...there is no such thing as a secret when two people know something...and you don't need to take the survey to see what's going on or grab a picture.
Here is what I was shown. Again, there is no guarantee that we will see this scent, but I am thinking we will. There were NO scent notes shared with me at this time.
