It’s not just the fact that he’s inspired by a large South American rodent (yes — that adorable capybara), but that he’s part of Bath & Body Works’ new camping-inspired theme popping up for Fall.

And honestly… who among us hasn’t looked a little scruffy before our first cup of coffee? He’s ready to start his day — coffee in paw — complete with a cozy plaid bandana to keep cool. I wouldn’t mind a matching one for myself… but since there weren’t any bandanas for us, I grabbed the s’mores shea socks instead. Cozy wins!

Scented Musings | 🎃 “When Fall Arrived… Before the Fireworks!”

 

After mentioning my store wasn't scheduled to set anything Fall until July 7th (per the DM), I spotted today's Fall releases online… and curiosity got the better of me. So, I had to check it out!

🍂 WHAT I FOUND:
The shelves were stocked with new Candles, Pocketbacs, Hand Soaps, Accessories, Wallflowers, and a few surprises ready to purchase. I noticed a 20% off coupon sitting in my App Wallet — my original plan was to hold it for the 7th when Halloween is expected to set… but when the total for these goodies rang up over $85 😱, you know I had to use it.

🍂 POCKETBACS AREN'T JUST FOR SANITIZING:
The new Fall Camping Theme Pocketbacs won’t be holding sanitizer for me — I popped them onto my ⛺ Camping / 🌞 Vacation Coffee Bar as little accents, and they look right at home.

I’ll be honest, that little Apple Drink Box isn’t a favorite. It could have been designed so much better. But… I thought it might be the “completer” piece for my Retro Holders collection, so into the bag it went (for now).

🍂 RIPLEY'S WOULDN'T BELIEVE THIS:
What looked like a Semi-Annual Sale themed Pocketbac collection has been trickling onto shelves here over the past few weeks — with the final scent appearing today. With Pocketbacs ringing up at just $1, I grabbed all four scents.

But let me tell you, I will never forget this set — for a reason that still makes me shake my head in disbelief… and laugh out loud after. I thought I had seen it all after blogging for so many years. Spoiler: I have not. One day, I’ll spill the Pocketbac Predicament story. Trust me, you’ll want to hear it.

When I made this post the other day, I mentioned what I would have loved to see as three wick candle jar labels for this Frankensteins Bakery Theme for HALLOWEEN.  Those candles that previewed online yesterday as the Collection for Halloween aren't something that I am drawn to.  "Who didn't love the original Sweet Shop Collection?"

Here are a few quick, silly concepts I did using that Bath and Body Works Enchanted Delights bakery luminary that I would have loved to see.... more graphically designed professionally... for more bakery scents.

THIS MORNING - EARLY:

I woke this morning at 4:47 because a bunch of early rising birds were chatting it up outside of my window (most likely talking about the Halloween preview happening today).  So, I got the day started with just four hours of sleep, and I jumped on the computer to see what the preview might be and sure enough, some of the Halloween items were already loaded on the site.  

There were a few things available that I didn't know about, and a few things that I did know about that never launched as of yet.

I made an order (13 items) and clicked confirmed and went about the rest of my morning getting ready to run a few errands and hit the mall.

While checking my IG messages, I found they were full of the same question: 

Is this it for Halloween?  It was the same question I had.

QUESTION ANSWERED:

I found out that there were no other Halloween surprises --- yet known --- to come as the "more on the way" statement on this morning's APP marketing had implied.  Be it staff or customers, everyone was asking the same thing...and wondering what is next.

That same sentiment was stated last year...and we got nada. This time...was it in reference to Halloween...or Fall?  Fall items are not hitting my stores until 10am - 7/7 and not a minute before.  Not even a pocketbac can be out yet.   Halloween will launch then too.  

Could the more be the collab?  Could be.  I thought the quarterly meeting mentioned we will see that in the last quarters of the year.  I am "sure" it fits the theme timing, but will there be enough to make up for the lack of all of the basic Halloween goodies we normally see--- with its limitations? 

WHAT DID I FIND:

Empty SAS walls? Too Bad.  Empty Tables?  They will fill up next week.  (No, that is not what was said to me--- but it was a feeling in the shop when nothing new can come out to fill the emptiness in the shop (which is usually a big deal) to make it look less like a Store Closing Sale. 

Yes, I said that.  

For now, we only have the red bins of unwanted items at those prices shown, sadly waiting for a reduction in price to clean them out... as the days tick away.  I am through with purchases from SAS.

I did buy two Christmas in July Candles and four CIJ hand soaps for gifting while in the store.  That collection went down to 75% off beginning today and those items will make great theme fill ins.   

ARE WE EVER FULLY SATISFIED?

I can't answer that for anyone else. I know what I thought was going to be a themed collection of products didn't meet the Spooky feel of it all.    And the SUMMERWEEN concept of Frankenstein's Bakery fell short of not having a full launch of the Frankenstein monster on everything with his Bride...or bakery scents....and accessories. 

I will be at the opening of Halloween '25 and Fall 1 on July 7th ready to add to my collection with any surprises we could see.  And I will continue to post tonight what we had seen today, because much like Cinderella's night at the ball, all of this preview will disappear after 24 hours with not even a glass slipper (or Glass Skull Wallflower) to be found.

Scented Musings | Cool Breezes, Hot Cocoa, and Thoughts of Halloween

 

After an extremely busy day I am finally sitting down with a hot cup of cocoa...yes, cocoa...and ready to share a few musings.  The cocoa part made me laugh out loud to type since only a few days ago my office was a scorching 🔥 92 degrees up until 11 pm. 

Today it rained all day with promises of heat and humidity returning tomorrow...so I will enjoy the cool evening breezes while they last and my hot cocoa...as I share a few thoughts.

Slowly, but surely, my Bath and Body Works store is setting the final pieces to the "Retro-look" Hand Sanitizer Collection.  Today I found three out of the four Hand Sanitizer Refills, but I am waiting for all of them to set before I buy.  

It is what always happens for me at this sale weeks into it; I keep buying things in bits and pieces after the one coupon given is gone on the first large purchase, and it costs more than if I grabbed it all at once.  If I miss out on something while waiting for anything new to come, I am okay with that.
