Thanks for stopping by!
Today I wanted to share a new candle I am burning.
A friend had sent me a few of the new HomeWorx by Harry Slatkin Candles to try and I am excited to share some of my thoughts on the scents and burn of these three wick candles. Please check back often to all of my review posts for updates on all of the burns I talk about as I will be burning them to the bottom of the jar and letting you know what I found out about each.

Initial Thoughts:
The first thing I noticed with HomeWorx candles is the weight of them. It is substantial. I love the wider base of the candle because it gives the illusion it is resting on a glass pedestal.
The packaging on the Fantastic Fudge is everything. You cannot look at this jar with the stripes and scallops, and not think this scent is going to be ice cream shop related. And we all LOVE the ice cream shop.
Some of my fondest memories as a child was going to the ice cream store with my parents and grandmother.
Every Sunday after church in the warmer weather we would visit my Mothers mom and have Sunday dinner, ( roast chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn) and afterward, we would get in the car and go to Farmers Dairy for ice cream. The cones always seemed so big in my small hands and my favorite flavor was Teaberry, like the gum, and I could never seem to eat it fast enough before it was dripping off of my chin, and my hands. The store had stripes and scalloped awnings and each visit created a memory that was triggered when I saw this for the first time.
On cold Sniff:
When I lifted the lid my first impression was coffee. Not a coffee, coffee...a rich, deep espresso coffee scent. Delish. I closed the lid and tried it again and got a chocolate note. Unsweetened cocoa or bittersweet chocolate. It was rich and decadent and not a milk chocolate scent but it had a dark kind of creaminess to it.
Then I lit the candle.
My ( first burn ) time total was: 3 hours and 8 minutes
Time: 6:15 pm started, 7:03, 7:44, 8:50, 8:51, 9:21, extinguished 9:23 pm.
This Fantastic Fudge Candle scent is incredible and definitely worth a try.
It burned perfectly for me. I was burning it upstairs in my office and in the three hours I had it lit, it filled my room, the two other bedrooms and it trailed down the stairs. It is NOT overwhelming and too strong to enjoy in a smaller room which is where I was for the entire first burn. I give it an 8 out of 10. I will take it downstairs with me for the next burning to see how it fares in larger rooms.
I did use the lid to extinguish the flames ( as Harry shows us on the candle care video ) and removed the lid once extinguished to allow the smoke to billow away, not contaminate the wax.
As soon as the candle formed a wax pool a more true scent became evident. The espresso notes changed to a creamier fudge chocolate scent, but not a super sweet give you a headache note...or a fake cocoa smell. It reminded me of when I make fudge and that unsweetened cocoa powder meets the vanilla and the heavy cream sweetness that comes out at you. Rich, decadent.
The scent notes mention drizzled caramel and I can't be sure because I didn't smell it when warmed. Creamy coconut? Again, not sure...Black Vanilla? Yes, Or is it the Tonka Bean with it? I have a really good Dark Vanilla that I bake with, and it lets you know it isn't cheap Vanilla Extract...and that is what I found as the notes were circling my head. High End! The Notes mention Brown Sugar...I know brown sugar when I bake but I can't tell they are in this.
This is not cakey...nor bakery to me.

A few final thoughts......
As the candle was burning my husband came by the room I was in and asked me what candle was I burning. I told him the Fantastic Fudge scent. Now my husband does not pay too much attention to my candle burning at all. Unless it is a terrible scent and he asks me to put it out because he is getting a headache he has no interest otherwise. It isn't his thing.
What makes me smile is when I told him the scent name, he smiled, shook his head, looked away and said, " Yep that Harry knows what he is doing." Later he told me it was the best smelling chocolate he ever smelled. It wasn't so sweet that you know it's a candle.
And I have to agree.... " Yep, that Harry DOES know what he is doing!"
I will continue to burn this candle to the bottom of the jar and add photos to this post so you can see my progress, and read if my scent thoughts change as it progresses.
This Candle should be coming to QVC really soon so keep checking the link I shared above to purchase one for yourself.
