Retail Therapy & Retina Appointments: A Day in the Life
Toting heavy everything for the past month has earned me a lovely parting gift—a right ankle that’s decided to rebel. As I was getting dressed for an early morning Retina Specialist appointment out of town, it threw in the towel with a dramatic “not today” and gave out.
That trip, however, had a silver lining: I planned to visit a brand-new Bath & Body Works store that recently opened—a store very different from my familiar red gingham awning heritage location.
Ankle taped and braced like a champ, I told myself I’d still make it there—deep dilation or not. π
After three hours of sitting, testing, and more sitting, we left the doctor’s office and headed toward something brighter: Summer 1 newness. I had already seen much of the collection over the weekend, but I hadn’t yet visited the True-Blue Spa table. With Rewards Member FEST happening and new coupons loaded into my wallet, I grabbed a few True-Blue Spa goodies (and yes, more soaps—I have a type) to try.
Let me say: this new outdoor concept store was stunning inside. The fresh wall-to-wall collections, wider walkways, and beautifully coordinated table setups made it easy to browse—even through slightly blurry eyes. I’d never shopped a store that used a tan basket either—usually, it’s just the blue mesh tote. A small win, but a win nonetheless!
The staff were wonderful, greeting me right away and helping track down one item they didn’t carry. (Yes, I hobbled into my usual store later that day to find it instead of ordering—dedication.)
The store was quiet during my visit, but with the Semi-Annual Sale Summer Edition on the horizon, I expect it’ll be buzzing soon. I wish them great success and hope to stop in again the next time I’m nearby.
Here’s the full Firecracker Pop display from that store: Bath Fizzy, Lip Oil, Shimmer Fizz Body Lotion, Hand Soap, and Candle Sleeve—all the sparkly things in one place. π΄⚪π΅
