Rewards App Glitch: Time Travel, Anyone?
While checking the 3X Rewards Points Member Exclusive offer in the Bath & Body Works app this morning, I spotted something… oddly vintage.
The top of the offer says:
"Valid now through May 19, 2025 at 5:59 AM" — great! Plenty of time to use it.
Then a few lines down it reads:
"Valid Through: 12/31/69"
HA! Either Bath & Body Works is launching a retro time-travel campaign, or something in the system glitched.
In case you’re wondering, that “12/31/69” date is a classic tech bug — usually what shows up when a date field is empty or corrupted. Basically, the system doesn’t know what date to display… so it defaults to the Unix epoch time, which starts on January 1, 1970. In U.S. time zones, it’ll show as 12/31/69.
So no, your app isn’t haunted. Just a harmless little hiccup — and a good laugh for anyone who spots it!
