🎃 What Even Is Summerween?
If you know me, you know that I decorate for all the holidays. Always have. It started in childhood—when you grow up with very little, the smallest joys feel the biggest. Holidays, no matter how simple, brought wonder. So now, as an adult, I still decorate for all of them. It keeps that feeling alive.
Right now? My outdoors is decked in red, white, and blue for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. By August, you’ll see sunflowers. September brings in scarecrows and pumpkins. And October, of course, belongs to Halloween—with jack-o’-lanterns glowing in every corner.
But… here’s something I didn’t expect.
Apparently, some people celebrate Halloween twice a year! Who knew? And with Bath & Body Works teasing their upcoming Summerween Collection, I get it—who wouldn't want a little spooky fun in the middle of summer?
🎃🕶️ Yes, Summerween is a thing. I was scrolling recently and came across an article explaining it all. Turns out, the idea started back in 2012 on Disney Channel’s Gravity Falls. In Season 1, Episode 12, the characters decided they loved Halloween so much, they were going to celebrate it in the summer too. Since then, it’s gained real-world momentum—especially online. June 22 is often marked as “Summerween,” but some are celebrating it all season long.
“Fast forward to summer 2024, and people on TikTok are coming up with the most creative Summerween parties we’ve ever seen!” – The Pioneer Woman
And you know what? I’m all for it.
I may not set up all of my Christmas trees in July (even though I do leave a few lit ones out year-round), but I’ll absolutely get on board with a little early Halloween magic—especially when it smells like pumpkins and bonfires!
🌻 So… are you celebrating anything fun early this year? Tell a girl. I want to know all about it!
PS... so if Jume 22 is the date shared as Summerween from that TV show,...will that part of the Bath and Body Works Halloween 2025 Collections come out then? I will find out for sure...and let you know. 😉
