Today, Bath and Body Works shared a Sneak Peek of a few New Holiday Collection items and the Polar Planet Luminary Candle Collection was one of those shared.
With it being only October and still Fall, those of us who LOVE the Holiday items were enjoying this look at more of what is coming for Holiday 2024 beginning in less than a month with "lights on" Winter Wonderland store conversion to all things (holiday 1) Holiday November 1st.
Living here in PA, snow is a major factor of Holiday and Winter, so when you can get accessories to decorate your home like ---Snowflakes --- are always a welcome sight.
I took the time this morning to grab some of the new photos to update the Holiday Archive here and afterwards saw a few comments on Reddit regarding one of the candles.
Snowed In to be exact.
When I first read what was being said...I thought could it be someone else's design...maybe a label issue of a copyright?? It's a snowflake on a jar....like the other jar labels in this collection show. Snow. Snowflakes. Paper cutting look snowflakes. Made them as a kid. Occasionally still make them.
I continued to read the in-between-the-lines thoughts of what some were seeing...and someone came right out and said what they thought it looked like.
I looked back at the photo and I didn't think that at all at first.
But I don't discount what someone who sees it as something of hate, feels it looks like that.
I never knew that, experienced that level of hate, and fear in my life, thankfully. But I can understand the instinctive thought of it, that they mentioned when they first saw it.
None of us ever know what someone else is going through, or goes through in a day. We shouldn't judge what someone said they thought of, when seeing this....or anything.
As it turns out, the candle was removed from the website now. I am guessing it was because of what was discussed on social.
What will become of this candle remains unknown. I suppose they could have the stores remove the label to sell them....like what happened with the NOOK candle. Time will tell.
