Bath & Body Works | Sweating Through Summer & Early Halloween

 

It's currently 92 degrees in my home office...and no, I don't have air conditioning anywhere except for a portable unit in our bedroom.  Having central air is a dream...especially coming from a very pale-skinned girl who's not a sun worshiper --- with daily hot flashes that puts this temp to shame.   My neighbor yelled over to us this morning as I was watering the thirsty, water-starved plantings in the yard, "Just think, six months from now we will be shoveling SNOW!" ⛄❆

I was thinking that very thing and wishing for some flakes as the sun slowly melted the SPF covered  skin I was baking in.  HAHA.  

Every year it seems the temps get hotter, earlier in the season.  And every year I baste in my office...writing about it.  So, with that in mind, let's talk about the earlier we are seeing Christmas in July products with upcoming Sneak Peeks of Halloween🎃 hitting online for a brief preview next Monday.

I will admit this --- I am a bit unsure as to what "Halloween" will truly be.  I will get back to that.

🌲Christmas in July  

Like I wrote previously...I felt it was a capsule collection with a few products {that could have included Pocketbac Holder, Refills, and Scentportables} that would be released in the summer, sometime with a theme of our beloved holiday characters having a vacay of their own.  

Love it.  Should they have brought back Gourmand Beloved Fragrances that are requested all day, every day?  Um yes!

The label designs...yes, I like them, and I bought all candles but the Winter Candy Apple. ...but they too could have been a wee bit different...BUT they are different than what we end up getting November 1st for the "Lights On" Holiday releases. 🌲❅ 

I am hoping for some character driven packaging this year -- and please, enough with the bubble looking/floating apples and trees, etc.  And Bows Packaging.

The Christmas in July Collection that came out in June - is what it is. I came, I saw, I purchased.

🌞SUMMERWEEN

Now back to Halloween.  "Summerween" feels like a theme of pieces that I thought were supposed center around a lovesick Frankenstein monster and his mad Bakery skills.  Where...and I say this with all the love I can muster in this hot office...where are the BAKED GOODS THEMED CANDLES?   I’m talking monster muffins, ghoul-glazed doughnuts, spooky cinnamon swirls. 

There are sneak peeks hitting social everywhere, every day and low and behold not one surprise gourmand anything.

That Collection could have been amazing scents, with AMAZING MONSTER scent names.  Spooky, fun, ghoulish Halloween scent baked good names.  I found the I Scream Float trademark months and months ago and in all of these months I half expected to find more --- and nothing.  So far.

SPEAKING OF ACCESSORIES

Not that I buy that stuff anymore but Where Are the WATERGLOBE pieces?  That stuff flies out the door at release.  Little kids run for it... grown men try to knock over anyone grabbing for the same item.  

There is so much New to come, and we may want to add so many pieces to our collections --- we will need to break up our purchases...and we will need coupons too!
