Bath and Body Works Vampire Blood Collection of Items shared this morning. I will be making a post of my thoughts on a few things later today. For now, some scented musings about this collection:
π§Scented Musings:
For the most part, the packaging on the Vampire Blood body care is okay. Typical. Expected and rich in color. The same for the laundry products.
THE HAND SOAPS - eh. I am not impressed really. The tooled tooth look bottle was not collecting worthy...and that statement is coming from someone who has 703 bottles (shelves spring cleaned, counted and organized this weekend) of Bath and Body Works hand soaps and who just added four more to it today. The same goes for the other hand soap. Why not stay with the body care theme packaging and match it back?? These gave me a thought of let's put anything on the bottle and they will buy it. Can't one version have a BAKERY on it?
π§THE CANDLES. Love the lid - the over-the-top lid design. And that candles label? Nope. Again, no thought whatsoever feeling of it. Why not make that label match the body care collection? It would be perfect as part of the Halloween Signature Collection.
Then we have the "carousel-windows-feel" labels for the other Candle Collection. We don't need bows on everything to make it cutesy.
I know I am not a graphic artist, and this is in no way meant to be hurtful. I have worked for a renowned American brand known for its creative craft kits, so I know a little about designs. There isn't any of the candles with that look of repeating patterns that I like or want to buy. Save the bows, match the theme!
I thought this SUMMERWEEN Frankensteins Bakery theme, thought, was going to give us much more than what it delivered.
The scents did not need to be all BAKERY...but a least a few of them could have been. And think about what we could have seen ----
π§CANDLES LABELS: What Could have been???
Wicked Vanilla Woods (or something else) - How about a label with the Enchanted Delights Bakery photo on it??? Tucked inside the forest with a spooky feel to it.
The Pumpkin Candle could be something with Frankenstein on it, with shades of pink pumpkins he stacked nearby.
Vampire Blood - a vampire outside of the bakery going in to buy some Red Velvet Cake.
Make Ghoul Friend - (play on words) be Frankensteins Wife Holding a tray of something Bakery-like?
I Scream Float - Bakery theme again but a view of the entire Baked Goods Case inside.
Sugar Spell Sweets is incredibly cute - with the cake.
There is a Wedding Cake Candle holder, a matching candle of the shop or the Frankenstein would have been a compliment to the piece.
And add in spooky cute baked goods names --- gourmands ---candles to hit the sweet spot of those lovers!
π§THE SINGLE WICK CANDLES - could have been the Vampire label in the bakery style and the Pocketbac holder label with my bad eyes and not yet seen in person looks like a blurry photocopy of a bat.
Again, just some random thoughts after being up over 12 hours now. July 7th when the collection is revealed in store may change some of these thoughts...or not.! π§
