This & That Chit Chat

Yesterday's This and That post is getting a lot of commentary socially...yet no one asked me anything -- where it actually originated from, so I wanted to share a few things.

PRANK

I don't prank, why on earth would I prank about this stuff??   I share what I know, what I heard, what I am told, and what I saw for myself....and I know how so many things seem unusual, but they are not made up.  Remember, this is a brand that brought MANY odd named/scented candles before.

Candle Day Candles

These are going to be the somewhat unusual combinations, sure.  I have known about some since April/May.  At that time, they did exist.  And were seen by many who know it is true, and they know who they are.

As for having a Dill Pickle scented Candle...Years Ago, I wrote a post about something that happened as a joke on April Fools, a written article that was shared...and I was in a Bath and Body Works store at the time when a woman came in, asked the associate for the Pickle candle because her daughter loves pickles and wanted it.  I read the article that morning and while the associate was stunned and never heard about it, I pulled up the article in store and showed them both -- it was not real.  This is real.

Fast forward to now, and if you have been in a grocery store or shopping in TJMaxx, you will have seen Pickle everything.  Pickle flavor Gold Fishes, Pickle Candles, Pickle this and Pickle that.  I am not sure if said upcoming candle is going to smell like a pickle, or will it smell green and earthy.  I didn't see or smell it.  But I do know that it was something.

Pickles Are Trending.

As for the other candle scents shared, I would expect them to be more of the same.

Unusual collection of scents going to be shared on thee most fun day of candle shopping --- that does not surprise me at all!

SIDE NOTE

What Is the Christmas Pickle Tradition?

The Christmas pickle, also referred to as the Weihnachtsgurke, is part of a popular U.S. tradition involving a frantic search and a fun reward. The pickle, typically a glass ornament, is hidden within the branches of the tree, and the first person to find it wins the reward.

In my family, the first person to find the pickle on Christmas Eve gets to open the first gift. In other variations of the tradition, the search takes place on Christmas morning, or the pickle-finder receives a special gift. For other people, the reward is having good luck for the upcoming year. However, the item in the tree is always a pickle.
