Reason number 12

July 24th, 2013

The phone rings and the voice on the other end begins by saying...
"Reason number 12 why you should go to Disney....."

My brother has been planning out next years Disney family vacation and he calls me daily telling me about all of the things there is to see next May.  Booking and coordinating numerous aspects of a family vacation isn't a hard task... it's harder to get everyone to commit to a certain week....but you need to make sure everything is taken care of.

When he was there this past April, he saw that there are so many new attractions coming for next year you need to follow the Disney blogs to keep track.

So reason number 12?

This little guy.....(still to be named check out the blog here to vote  )

A new male Masai giraffe calf will be joining the Kilimanjaro Safaris savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the next few weeks, but not before the votes are tallied for what his name will be.
Disney has put up a poll on their blog to allow the public to name the newly born calf.

The options are: Baraka, which means blessing; Knodo, which means battle; Baridi, which means frost; Shingo, which means long neck; Asani, which means rebellious; and Mosi, which means first since this is the first Masai calf to be born at Animal Kingdom.

Since there are two types of giraffes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Masai giraffes and reticulated giraffes – you’ll have to look to the spots to differentiate between the two. Masai giraffes have dark brown, jagged patches on a cream-colored coat whereas reticulated giraffes have orange-brown, strictly defined patches separated by bright white lines.

To help name the newborn calf, visit the Disney blog to cast your vote and be sure to check back on July 31 to see what name wins.

As I am sitting here making this post he just called back with..... Reason number 13....
