gone, yet not
My deletion of blogs a few months back left me with a cleaned slate to start new yet part of me was sorry that I didn't keep a copy of them in my own archives. Click...erase...click gone.
Burrs....and a white christmas find....
There is a beauty to snow.
The mystery of millions of cold little flakes, each one wonderfully unique... falling together to form a uniform blanket of white that glistens from a light within.
There is a beauty to snow.....as you peer at it through a window while warm in your house, wanting to experience its cold.
There is a beauty to snow....as you step through it, each flake clinging to you chilling you to the bone but enticing you to play.
There is a beauty to snow....as you lay upon it moving your arms making snow angels and looking back at your impression...the one they let you make within them.
That's where the beauty....stops..... ha ha.
At the first sign of the snow shovel.....the back break from lifting it....and the heating pad to mend you....it kind of stops being all that enticing.
:)
They told us the snow that was suppose to come here today was going to be light...no winds....and no problems. An inch or two.
They gave it a name for petes sakes....winter storm Freyr. Why are we naming winter storms now? I mean, If I get up and its snowing....It's snowing.... I don't need a name to tell me I am about to become cold...and wet.
And where are they getting the names from as this is what I found about Freyr.
Freyr (sometimes anglicized Frey, from *frawjaz "lord"[1]) is one of the most important gods of Norse paganism. Freyr was associated with sacral kingship, virility and prosperity, with sunshine and fair weather, and was pictured as a phallic fertility god, Freyr "bestows peace and pleasure on mortals". Freyr, sometimes referred to as Yngvi-Freyr, was especially associated with Sweden and seen as an ancestor of the Swedish royal house.
Um, associated with fair weather? Really? Look out of the window mister weather peoples.
Anyway.....We have already passed 5 inches of snow here and I have shoveled once and will need to go out again but I did trek out into this winter wonderland and check out my local Bath and Body Works SAS again. What caught my attention today was the elusive WHITE BARN CHRISTMAS 2012 candles that were only offered on Black Friday and sold out....or so they said when I asked....now on the candle table for $10.00 . That Apple Spruce scent is really nice and I love it in the scentportables.
I did pick up some of those, used a coupon and got the three for $20.00.
Yesterday at the SAS out of town I did get two receipts adjusted for the Sparkling Strawberry now reduced to $4.00.....(I paid $14.00) As well as a I heart Lucky Dogs gift set I paid $21.50 for now half off. I love the PB holder as it wasn't available separately and I was willing to pay that price, get a free item and hope for an adjustment afterwards. The puppy socks and scentportable can be saved for gifts.
I did purchase more Pocketbacs, because if one hundred is good, three hundred are better.... ;) in California poppy, I love shopping, I love you, cilantro peach, wildberry dahlia, bee well, and bee nice.....twenty five cent pocketbac holders in pink glitter for Valentines Day gifts, and five home fragrance oils $2.00 each; in bahama fizz, lilac blossom, pineapple mango and sunrise lagoon, and added three more strawberry and peach glitter sprays.
I am hoping tomorrow brings more sun and less snow so I can check out another BBW as I am out of CO Bigelow peppermint tingle bar soaps and so are most of the stores around here.
Perhaps folks are seeking out white cool tingles somewhere other than their snow covered paths?
Much love...

It snowed here yesterday and today, as it did in most of the country where snow is possible. Not the kind of snow that happened for Christmas Day....that was snowman building snow....which I took full advantage of and built one. No, this snow was the crummy, heavy and wet crusty ice on top kind of snow that broke your back to move from one place to another and held up deliveries of Bath and Body works items from other states....that you have been waiting for what seemed like, forever.
My online order of the Aromatherapy milk and honey lotion arrived safely today; all bottles bubble wrapped together perfectly.
My replacement order of spring candles on the other hand has not arrived yet due to bad weather......replacing due to a general lack of proper packing procedures. Opening up a box of glass shards and wax is no fun when you expect to gift some for Christmas when received on the 17th. Not receiving the replacements because one was sold out and the large replacement order was held for a week for that one candle to be included and shipped on the 26th.....only to get caught up in winter weather....and have them still not here is bothersome. Heaven knows if bubble wrap and crates will be included this time to prevent breakage. I surely hope so. I am really enjoying burning the spring scents in between the holiday favorites.
I haven't taken the time yet to visit my local stores SAS, most likely tomorrow, again weather permitting. I am not sure what I could possibly need....my home probably has more BBW merchandise than some stores I have been to do.
And I did take a look through my body care stash today and noticed when I went to use my Aruba Triple Moisture Cream that the scent is off. Off as in yucky. Purchased just a year ago, if that, my last three tubes of that scent seem to be not holding up well all store properly. A wee bit frustrating. I love using the TMC's but I find a lot of the scents with vanilla in them don't seem to be holding up for a long period of time. Lotion is fine, but I find the thickness of the cream more soothing at times and I would hate to eliminate it from my routine. Since the Aruba products are being released again in a few weeks I should be able to exchange them for some less foul....possibly. I may just return them and stick to things that aren't potential returns.
That is the problem with having new release scents every month almost. We try things, like them or not....and stock up when we do because the company changes its mind so often on keeping things we may not get it again....and we tell ourselves we need it. Their offering buy three get three free doesn't help our hoarding tendencies. We tell ourselves we must stop the hoarding and use up what we have, (which will never happen) and then we go to the next new release with coupons and surveys in hand and shop...shop...shop.
I was looking on Facebook tonight at everyone's hauls of SAS and wondered what their closets, and cabinets and storage areas look like. It is the perfect opportunity to buy those items you may need for gifts in the upcoming six months but do we really stop there? Or do we tell ourselves that this is a great price and worry where to put it later? I am not judging mind you.... I am a consumer of goods too...and a lover of sales.... I just wish some days I would consume faster..... :)
While looking for something non BBW on Ebay I did search for new things listed and laughed at the prices on the SAS things now being offered for sale. Why anyone would pay 30.00 for something being sold in the store (shipped within the US only) for 3.00 is beyond me. They must really need it.... And between Ebay and Facebook I could kind of gauge what is being offered at SAS. I haven't seen anything rare found yet.
And with the new floorset in a few weeks, I think I will be saving my money for pocketbac holders and all things paradise....

deal of the day for sunday 12/23
Todays deal is the Aromatherapy Body wash as expected for $5.00. I am heading to a BBW out of town and I am hoping they have some of the scents I like still left on the shelf....
I did get one of the new bounce backs with the Paradise theme products shown and I will get that posted later when I have time. It is just more of the same thing.....
They put the super...in saturday
I spent the better part of my morning driving around from one place to another dropping off presents pre huge snow storm and having coffee and exchanging with another sweet friend today before heading out to my favorite BBW store. I don't know how santa does this all in one night.
Santa is coming to my house tomorrow night for the little ones so I plan to ask him.
My store was beyond busy....they were downright swamped. The shelves on the other hand were not. Slowly but surely they are all emptying from their Christmas décor as new Semi Annual things begin to fill the spaces.
Sadly, a lot of folks didn't realize that the SAS prices on those new soaps and things placed now were not in effect yet and when they brought up their purchases they were told the regular sale prices. There were not many happy shoppers regarding that.
There were a lot of men shopping for their women and it made me smile watching them wander from one spot to another with puzzlement on their faces.
The man in Victoria's Secret was the best.....he went from one pile of things to another picking out things for his wife with restrained confidence. He told the clerk there when asked what size is she.....lemme have a pair and I will fold them. I do the laundry so I know just how they look.
I laughed and told him to go out to the benches and tell that to the guy in the black coat.
He went through drawer after drawer looking at the lace edged panties telling the now two clerks helping him she never wore lace before. He said what should I do....and I offered up my advice...."buy her something you like....she may just like it too".....and he blushed and said, " Ma'm I like it all."
I saw him in a few minutes at the register and he asked the lady checking him out to put in in the boxes for him so she wouldn't peek. He had bras, panties and pajamas.....and I was happy for his wife.
It was the highlight of my shopping....the men in the midnight hour making great effort.....
Now back at BBW, I did find a box with three our classic best kiss color changing lip glosses (two exclusive to this kit) for a price of $18.50. For three full sized glosses that wasn't too bad, but I had already planned on using my 40% off coupon so it made it a little cheaper.
I grabbed a few fragrance mists and some candles and of course the bucket....and after a brief stay in line, saved a bunch of money on some things for me. YAY! I listened to some of the new SA's trying to talk people into getting the bucket and then going back to the manager asking for a few more that they were out of what she had given them. They appeared to have been coached a bit on what to say and seemed a bit pushy when they tried to "sell" me. I already knew it would end up free for me with my coupon so they were saved my push.... :)
The spring repeat candles were out and the soap and not much more. I was told the red checked...(not blue, I stand corrected I did know that but forgot when I wrote previously) bins were being prepped in the back for Monday nights redo. It's a shame that some will need to work late on Christmas Eve getting it all out, but businesses must do what they feel is necessary....Come Wednesday morning when the gates rise from their holiday rest....the gladiators will be waiting....
Good thing I have my color changing lip gloss now.....
